Rallye Navigation
Navigation rallies are challenges where teams must follow a set route along the country lanes. They are not speed races; the route is often a secret, and the primary goal is to follow the instructions correctly to stay on course. If you arrive at a checkpoint early (if you're going too fast) or late (if you got lost), you accumulate penalty points.

This type of rally takes place on public roads open to regular traffic. There's no need for a powerful, high-performance car; an everyday vehicle is perfectly adequate since you must obey the speed limits and the rules of the road.

These rallies also serve as a springboard into performance rallying and, at the highest level, constitute very intense competitions. A first-aid kit, a warning triangle, and a fire extinguisher are the only mandatory pieces of equipment. Top-level competitors will add a skid plate (to protect the engine), auxiliary lights, a rally computer (specifically for navigation rallies), a map light, and suitable tires.
